Victory: Retail Believers
Paddle Surf HawaiiVictory was able to speak to Austin over at Paddle Surf Hawaii. A place that thrives on the SUP world and the world of surfing. A place with the technology to craft the best possible boards. A place with very knowledgeable people in the industry to direct you with your every need. . Your gonna have to check out their website at www.paddlesurfhawaii.com to really understand their passion for SUP and surfing, and their desire to educate all on the best possible product. A couple years back Austin was surfing with a few friends in the North Shore. He was complaining about how his rashguard as feeling like it was chaffing his skin. His friend was wearing a Victory rashguard and told him it was the best material he has worn to date. Austin had seen plenty ads for Victory and have seen team riders wearing them but never looked into Victory until that friend recommended it. He was sold with the recommendation from the friend. When asked the question….How does the Koredry work for you…he replied,” It’s hard to describe. It just feels unreal! The Koredry keeps the water repelled off my skin underneath and the material is super smooth and light that it feels like there’s no restraint at all while I am surfing. I feel free and loose and like I’m not wearing anything. Its just super comfortable. |

Fastlane SailingSan Diego, CA Fast Lane Sailing began with a primary focus on sailing, especially sailing sabots, catamarans and lasers. A few years ago they brought in kayaks, especially fishing kayaks. Then they added Stand UP Paddle Boards. They have run ads in the local surfing mags featuring photos of kayak fisherman catching big yellowtail in the kelp beds off San Diego. Just recently they caught a Thresher Shark off of a SUP! They started carrying Victory Koredry shirts a few years ago and according to Ron Lane the owner have found they work great for all these activities. When ever they go out and “test” new boats they always wear their KoreDry shirts, even if it is as a base layer under another shirt. |

Stewarts Surf ShopSan Clemente, CA Bill Stewart shaped the first custom board I every bought in 1981 in preparation for a 14 month trip around the world so it seemed to make sense to make his shop our first featured shop for our newsletter. I spoke with Trey Waisner the Retail Sales manager for the store and asked how things were going. I expected the normal tale of woe that I seem to hear a lot these days but instead it seems Stewarts Surf Shop has had one of their best years ever. This summer was better than last and the fall has been great so far. |

Chaunceys Surf ShopOcean City, MD Chaunceys Surf Shop in Ocean City Maryland was one of the first shops to pick up the Victory TroPiskin line.According to Chauncey, they’ve had a surprisingly good year with this summer being better than most. He attributes this to their emphasis on core surf products: boards, wetsuits, surfshirts rashguards, board shorts, etc. and a commitment to one on one service with a very knowledgeable staff. |

Coastal Urge,Wilmington, NC Just two years ago Jeoffrey Nathan and his wife Catherine decided to open a new kind of retail store reflecting their active, coastal life style. Their business, Coastal Urge, has done very well even in the tough economy and has continued to grow throughout the period. With the current resurgence in the economy they feel this new year will be better than ever. The store carries lines such as Patagonia (customers occasionally mistake them for a Patagonia store), Quiksilver Edition, North Face, Prana as well as high end women’s swimwear and a range of Stand Up Paddle boards. Although they aren’t strictly a SUP store they do cater a lot to this sport with Stearns life jackets, Da Kine bags and apparel designed for SUP including Victory Koredry. |
